The Opportunity:
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is responsible for performing all functions needed for an onsite mechanic. Responsible for the onsite maintenance of all heavy equipment and general equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition and report all deficiencies to supervisor
- Perform inspections to ensure tested and repaired equipment meet performance specifications
- Troubleshoot breakdowns of equipment to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
- Follow given operating instructions to maintain shop equipment operations
- Maintain supplies
- Call for repairs
- Coordinate with local CAT dealers
- Perform regular preventive maintenance
- Complete and file all appropriate reports and paperwork
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong teamwork orientation

- Strong organizational skills
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Beginner level experience with computers
- Current driver’s license
- ASE Certified preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive Hand/Arm/Leg Movements
- Lifting/Carrying/ Pushing
- *Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs. will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
